10 Reasons to...Trek Nepal 2010

1. Challenge Yourself
Committing to the trek means you are willing to take on an exciting challenge which will take you out of your comfort zone. Not only will you have to find imaginative ways to raise funds for the trek, but you will also need to prepare yourself for a demanding route that will test you physically and mentally.

2. Discover Mount Kenya
Mount Kenya is an extinct volcano with incredible scenery and wildlife; elephants, rhinos and leopards roam the surrounding area. You will see rainforests, moorland, plantations, great valleys, glacier fields and beautiful African skies.

3. Support a valuable cause
By taking part in Trek Mount Kenya, you will be helping International Childcare Trust provide a better life for children in our projects. Not only will you raise funds, but you will also be drawing attention to the work that we do.

4. Travel to a beautiful part of the world
Kenya is an ideal destination to enjoy a magnificent landscape and a wealth of history, culture and traditions. In a country overflowing with colour you will have a feast of the senses that few descriptions could ever do justice.

5. Meet new people
There will be a number of people taking part from all age groups and experiences. The process of making friends, sharing experiences and supporting each other through the trek is an important and unforgettable part of Trek Nepal.

6. Visit a project that gives vulnerable children hope and a future
At the end of the trek you will visit one of the projects and get a firsthand view of how the money you raise benefits poor and needy children. You will receive a heart-warming reception from the children and meet the staff at the project.

7. Get fit or keep fit
Taking part in a trek is an excellent way to get your body into shape and keep fit as you will need to take on regular exercise and training months in advance to prepare yourself for the long hours of trekking.

8. Get away from the tourist trail
The trek will take you away from the popular tourist sites and allow you to visit places that are not normally seen by visitors. You will have an excellent chance to see how the Kenyan people really live!

9. Enjoy the peace and quiet
The trek offers the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and job or family commitments. You will be trekking in a remote area of Kenyan and it is a fantastic opportunity to take some time to focus on yourself and simply enjoy some peace and quiet.

10. So what are you waiting for?
If you have never done a challenge before, this is a fantastic opportunity to start now. No excuses! Set yourself a challenge for 2010 - you'll have a wonderful time and on finishing, an overwhelming sense of achievement.
